There are many opportunities to give from the heart…

Room Sponsorship – The Room Sponsorship Program provides family and friends of veterans with the opportunity to sponsor a veteran’s room at the Nevada State Veterans Home.  Your contribution will be acknowledged on a recognition plaque near the entrance to a room.  Gifts made in this manner are deposited into NVAL’s Endowment Fund which ensures a perpetual gift for residents.

Fountain of Honor – Located in the main lobby of the Nevada State Veterans Home, the Fountain of Honor provides an opportunity to reflect and remind everyone entering the Home of the legacy of veterans who have answered the final roll call.  Gifts made to the Fountain of Honor will be placed in NVAL’s Endowment Fund.

Veterans Olympics – The annual Veterans Olympics connects yesterday’s serviceman with today’s active military men and women.  Together, they share current and past experiences while participating in Olympic events.  The gleaming gold, silver, and bronze medals and radiant faces attest to the success of this event.  Your contributions defray program costs and enhance the quality of life of residents.

Planned Giving – Through your donation of real property, bequests, estate planning, life insurance, and tangible items, your generosity enhances the quality of life for residents of the Home.  Gifts may be designated for specific uses by donors. 

Resident Fund – Gifts to this fund are spent according to the wishes of residents, through a voting process that takes place at Resident Council meetings.    

Endowment Fund – Gifts to this fund are combined and invested.  The interest earned by these “pooled” gifts is available to be utilized for residents, as needed.

Employee Fund – Gifts to this fund are used to sponsor “morale-boosting” events for the team caring for America’s heroes.

These are just a few of the opportunities NVAL offers to enhance the lives of residents at the Nevada State Veterans Home.  Other “specific” opportunities are determined as needs arise or a donor indicates a specific designation.
