Southern Nevada State Veterans Home (SNSVH) – Independent Review Panel (IRP)

Caring for Nevada’s heroes in the Southern Nevada State Veterans Home (SNSVH) places many important demands on the leadership and staff of the Home and the Nevada Department of Veterans Services (NDVS).  While Federal and State agencies conduct frequent, comprehensive surveys and inspections of the home, there is a need for ongoing independent review of SNSVH operations and practices to ensure a holistic review of quality of care and quality of life in order to improve both.  To provide this review, the NDVS Director created the SNSVH Independent Review Panel (IRP).

The IRP provides an ongoing, independent review of the SNSVH.  It advises both the Veterans Services Commission and NDVS on ways to improve the quality of the program to make it more successful in achieving its mission—caring for Nevada’s Heroes.

In the pursuit of this purpose the IRP will:  Identify important issues related to the operation of the SNSVH, initiate and conduct studies concerned with these issues, convene interested parties, and prepare authoritative statements and reports on these issues when, in the judgment of the IRP they would assist NDVS to improve the quality of care and quality of life for SNSVH residents.
