An Early Christmas at the NNSVH

As our country continues to work through the pandemic, the residents of the Northern Nevada State Veterans Home received early Christmas presents. On December 7, the associates and members of Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) 989 came by the Home with some holiday cheer.

Throughout the year, the associates and members of VVA 989 have the residents of the Home in mind. They have worked to ensure that their experience there is like being at home instead of in a skilled nursing facility. In their latest effort, the VVA purchased twelve custom designed, 513-piece jigsaw puzzles that were specifically made for the chapter and 18 beautiful poinsettias to grace the Home interior. The chapter also helped coordinate Christmas carolers to serenade the residents and worked with the staff of the Home to ensure all would be able to listen.

These presents were possible due to the generosity of the individual members of the chapter who contributed funds. According to Mike Ball, Administrator of the NNSVH, “These donations have been a welcome relief for these residents as they remain isolated as a result of the pandemic.”

NDVS thanks the associates and members of VVA 989 for their support of the residents of the Northern Nevada State Veterans Home.
