Area Hospice Care Centers Donate to Residents at Northern Nevada State Veterans Home

(Reno, Nevada) – Residents of the Northern Nevada State Veterans Home (NNSVH) now  have more entertainment and leisure supplies thanks to the generosity of four area hospice care centers who are part of a Veteran Hospice Partnership through We Honor Veterans. Infinity Hospice Care, Kindred Hospice Care, A Plus Hospice Care, and Compassion Care Hospice recently donated a large assortment of puzzle tables, puzzle frames and glue, and a myriad of other supplies fulfilling specific resident requests. The donations also included mailing and gardening supplies.   

NNSVH is a 96-bed facility that provides short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, and memory care.  Located at 36 Battle Born Way in Sparks, Nevada, NNSVH is overseen by the Nevada Department of Veterans Services (NDVS) and is operated by Avalon Health Care Management.   

“We have such amazing community partners,” said Kat Miller, NDVS Director. “These hospice care centers are providing items that will not only enrich the lives of our residents, but this generosity also lets our residents know how deeply appreciated they are for their service in the U.S. Armed Forces.”   

Donations may be made online and are used to enhance the lives of veterans and spouses living at the Home. 

The three hospice and palliative care facilities provide professional and compassionate in-home hospice care services to patients facing life-limiting illnesses. Hospice care enhances the quality of a patient’s life by emphasizing the dignity of the individual and strength of the family unit. 

NDVS is dedicated to helping Nevada veterans obtain the services and benefits they have earned through military service. In addition to offering benefits counseling and assistance, including VA claims at no cost, NDVS manages the Northern and Southern Nevada State Veterans Homes and the Northern and Southern Veterans Memorial Cemeteries.
