Nominees will be selected for significant contributions made at the local, state and/or national level and by excellence achieved through going above and beyond the call of duty, specifically with respect to VOLUNTEER WORK in support of Women Veterans, Women in the Military and Women in the Community.
Nominations will be reviewed for impact to Women Veterans in Nevada. Recipient will be ultimately chosen by the Women Veterans Advisory Committee (WVAC). All nominations must be received by January 1st for an award in March at the Annual Women Veterans Conference.

Nevada Women Veterans Portrait Exhibit “Through Our Eyes”

“Through Our Eyes" was unveiled during 2018 Reno Artown. The exhibit features portraits of 15 women veterans and their first person narrative, life history known as My Life My Story. “Through Our Eyes" represents the Sierra Nevada catchment, five military branches of military service, veterans ranging in age from 25 to 100 years old, and it serves as a reminder of the significant contributions that women have made in service to their communities and country. The exhibit has traveled throughout the state of Nevada and is featured in the Primary Care reception area of the VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System.
