Veterans Service Officers

NDVS can assist eligible veterans and their families connect to earned VA benefits through our VA accredited Veterans Service Officers (VSOs).

VSOs provide assistance in filing claims or provide support in the appeals process at NO COST.

What do our Veteran Service Officer do?

NDVS can assist eligible veterans and their families connect to earned VA benefits through our VA accredited Veterans Service Officer (VSO). VSO provide assistance in filing claims or provide support in the appeals process at NO COST.

Per NRS 417.135, any person seeking compensation for filing a claim on behalf of a veteran is required to provide the client with written disclosure that is signed by the client and kept by both parties. (Download and print disclosure form HERE)

How Can We Help?

NDVS offers VA accredited Veterans Service Officers (VSOs) for Nevada’s veteran community. VSOs connect veterans to benefits, and can help write and submit benefits claims to the Veterans Administration (VA). Once the claim is filed, they will help you track your claim through the system. VSOs can also assist with filing appeals for denied claims.

NDVS (Nevada Department of Veterans Services) is currently dealing with a large number of requests.

VSO intake appointments are taking about 30–90 days to schedule. The wait time depends on which location you choose and appointment availability. If you have already submitted a request, you may need to wait longer than usual for someone to contact you. It does not necessarily mean your request has a problem, it’s primarily a notice about the current backlog.
