Our Goal
The “Rebel Vets” and Truckee Meadows Community Colleges present the return of Operation Battle Born: Ruck to Remember. Join us at our 5th annual ruck march to honor the fallen heroes from the Global War on Terror.
OBB North and South will be holding two separate events in their respective areas. The event will start with an opening ceremony on Friday. Over the next two days, teams of attendees and veterans will take turns carrying four rucksacks 60 miles from Amargosa Valley to the Las Vegas City Limit, via 10-mile legs. These 4 rucksacks contain a combined 7000 service members’ dog tags including the 59 Nevadans who have fallen in the Global War on Terror. We will honor these service members by carrying them into Las Vegas and symbolically laying them to rest in a ceremony at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
Participants and volunteers from around the state will be asked to challenge themselves physically and emotionally battling the heat and the weight of the fallen heroes on their backs.
