(Sparks, Nev.) – The public and members of the media are invited to attend a Luminary Event to commemorate the national observance of Gold Star Mother’s and Family’s Day at the Northern Nevada Gold Star Family Memorial, located outside the Northern Nevada State Veterans Home at 36 Battle Born Way, Sparks, Nevada.
The Luminary Event will be held on Sunday, September 25th, just before sundown, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Attendees are asked to recognize that due to the risk still imposed by the pandemic, this is an outside event. The home will be closed to visitors unless they have been invited inside by staff or a resident prior to this event.
The Nevada Department of Veterans Services is hosting the event in conjunction with the Nevada Gold Star Families Foundation. The ceremony will be short, followed by the laying of yellow roses and luminary bags on and around the memorial.
