Heroes for Heroes

Welcome to Heroes for Heroes!

Heroes for Heroes is a program in partnership with the NEST Collaborative (Nevada Ensures Support Together) to provide internet and phone based social support during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. Now it is our turn as members of the community to step up and serve those who have served before us. Whether it is an old-fashioned phone call or video chat, Nevada’s Heroes will have the opportunity to connect with one of our reliable volunteers.

Here is how it works!

  • Fill out the respective application below:
  • If you sign up to participate, you will receive a call from the Nevada Department of Veterans Services.
  • If you sign up to volunteer, you will be contacted by the NEST Collaborative.
  • Once you are on-boarded into the program, the fun begins!

Participants and volunteers will be paired to engage in phone calls or video chats twice per week.

If you are interested in signing up for the program, contact Rachel Jelenic at (775) 825-9849 or email to: jelenicr@veterans.nv.gov

Heroes for Heroes and the partnership with the NEST Collaborative was an outcome of the Family Connections Task Force.
