Position Description

Licensed Practical Nurses provide general or psychiatric practical nursing care in accordance with the authorized scope of practice specified in the Nurse Practice Act. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.The Nevada Department of Veterans Services, Nevada State Veterans Home in Boulder City, Nevada is recruiting for a Licensed Practical Nurse 2. This position provides direct nursing care to residents on an assigned neighborhood. In addition, this position administers medication and completes therapeutic procedures; provides specialized nursing wound care to residents; participates in the MDS/Care Planning process; communicates with neighborhood staff, residents, families, visitors, and members of the Nevada State Veterans Home treatment team. This is a 24-hour facility; therefore, applicants may be required to work shift work. Work experience in a skilled nursing facility and IV Certification is preferred.
