Under general supervision of a higher-level nurse, physician, or Mid-Level Practitioner, Registered Nurses provide general or specialized professional nursing care in accordance with the authorized scope of practice specified in the Nurse Practice Act.
The Nevada Department of Veterans Services, Southern Nevada State Veterans Home in Boulder City, Nevada is recruiting for a Registered Nurse 1. The Nurse 1 will be in a trainee capacity and will acquire the knowledge, skill and abilities required in this occupation. This position will be trained to manage the required documentation and assessment of each resident, provide leadership by organizing and assigning work duties to team members, provide education, respond to assessments, develop and modify resident care plans, provide timely input and updates to MDS Coordinator, and communicate pertinent information about residents to appropriate individuals. This is a 24- hour facility; therefore, applicants may be required to work shift work. Progression to the Registered Nurse 2 and 4 levels may occur upon meeting the minimum qualifications, satisfactory performance, and with the approval of the appointing authority.
