Registered Nurses provide general or specialized professional nursing care in accordance with the authorized scope of practice specified in the Nurse Practice Act. Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.
The Nevada Department of Veterans Services, Nevada State Veterans Home in Boulder City, Nevada is recruiting for a Registered Nurse 5 for our Minimum Data Set (MDS) program. Under the direction of Director of Nursing, this position will be responsible for coordinating the MDS program. This position coordinates the completion of the Minimum Data Set for all assigned residents, to include Prospective Payment system assessments, development of a comprehensive care plan for each resident utilizing an interdisciplinary approach.
Participation of interdisciplinary team members including Social Services, Activities, Dietary, and the Therapist will be sought. This position supervises and monitors the activities of the MDS Staff, provides training, and job assignments and performs general Registered Nurse 5 job duties in a skilled nursing facility. This position is located at the Nevada State Veterans Home in Boulder City. This is a 24-hour facility; therefore, applicants may be required to work different shift work. Work experience in a skilled nursing facility is preferred.
