On January 25, 2021, Governor Sisolak signed a Proclamation declaring March 2021 as Women’s Military History Month in Nevada.
Women in the military play an important role in Nevada’s history. Last year, Second Lieutenant Katarina Schumacher of Nevada’s Army National Guard became the first female in the State’s history to complete training to operate a tank and lead her own platoon. Schumacher is just one of the many women who have served and who are making a difference in the U.S. military.
