Funds are available immediately with up to $2,000 per household. Veterans may use the assistance for whatever they need, including lodging, household goods, medicine, food, or clothing. There are no income limits or intrusive verification requirements. The only requirement is that the recipient is a veteran.

Veterans or those who know a veteran in need can contact Chris Flaherty, who will connect them with Nation’s Finest’s Reno office to facilitate the distribution of funds.

NDVS (Nevada Department of Veterans Services) is currently dealing with a large number of requests.

VSO intake appointments are taking about 30–90 days to schedule. The wait time depends on which location you choose and appointment availability. If you have already submitted a request, you may need to wait longer than usual for someone to contact you. It does not necessarily mean your request has a problem, it’s primarily a notice about the current backlog.
