NVA SMART 21 PROGRAM UPDATE

As many of you know, our Nevada Veterans Advocate (NVA) Program, has been one of our most successful initiatives in promoting awareness of veteran benefits and services to the wider veteran community. Due to the State’s modernization efforts, NDVS is announcing that NVA online training opportunities will be suspended on approximately February 15, 2021as the Department restructures the NVA course to be compliant with the new Smart 21 platform.

Traditionally, the training to become an NVA has been available both in-person during NVA Conferences and online through the State’s online learning platform. Now, as the State is transitioning to an all-encompassing platform called SMART 21, the NVA training will also have to transition to this new platform effective March 1st. As a result, NDVS encourages those intending to complete the training soon, to do so before February 15th. Otherwise, you will have to wait until approximately March 1st when the Smart 21 project is anticipated to be completed.

With the implementation of SMART 21, NDVS is revamping the NVA course so it is compliant with the new platform Once the transition is completeNDVS will post on our social media platforms and an in the newsletter

NVA’s whose certification would expire in the interim of this transition will have their certification extended automatically.

NDVS is grateful for the support and work done by our Nevada Veteran Advocates, and our outreach team stands ready to support the work you do.
