SUMMARY:Veterans Hike at the Spring Mountain Ranch
DESCRIPTION:Team RWB\, a non-profit veterans organization\, that is focused on health & wellness of our veterans\, through physical and social activities\, invites you to come hiking with us on Saturday\, April 12th\, 2025\, at 0800. Learn more and sign up at https://members.teamrwb.org/events/109871 \nThis is an easy hike at the very scenic Spring Mountain Ranch\, Nevada State Park\, located in Blue Diamond\, adjacent to the h Red Rock National Conservation Area. We will take a stroll up to the scenic overlook\, then down around Lake Harriet\, and back down to the ranch house. The ranch house and visitor center was originally built by Howard Hughes and is rich with history\, as well as a secret passage to a hidden room. The hike less than 2 1/2 miles. \nWe will meet at 0800 in the visitor parking lot\, near the path to the ranch house and visitor center. From there\, we will begin our hike. Feel free to bring water\, snacks\, sunscreen\, etc. Check the weather in the morning and dress appropriately. This is a nice hike\, good for kids and dogs (leashed). \nThere is an entrance fee to the park\, however\, Nevada residents with proof of veteran status can get a free 1-year Nevada State Park Pass. This is different from the federal “America the Beautiful Pass” that gets you into National Parks (like Red Rock\, Lake Mead\, Grand Canyon\, Death Valley\, Zion\, etc.). The Nevada State Park Pass will get you into the Spring Mountain Ranch Park\, the Valley of Fire\, Eagle Valley\, the Ice Age Fossil Park\, etc. Also\, if you have a 10% or more rating from the VA\, you can get an “All Access” 1-year park pass that allows for camping in any state park (like the Horsethief Gulch Campground where we will be having our Eaglepalooza the last weekend in May). \nAs with all hikes\, be safe\, not sorry. Be alert and aware of your surroundings. If you get lost or have questions\, call or text me at 805-285-1412. \nIf you’re not a member of Team RWB yet\, sign up today at www.TeamRWB.org! Membership is free and open to all veterans\, active duty\, national guard\, reservists\, and their supporters. \n-Kevin \nKevin Panet\nTeam Captain\nTeam RWB Las Vegas Chapter\nCell/Text: (805) 285-1412\nKevin.Panet@TeamRWB.org\nhttps://www.teamrwb.org/\nU.S. Air Force Veteran (Ret.)\nMember\, American Legion Post 8\nLife Member\, DAV
