Patio Donation Provides Flair to Outdoors at Northern Nevada State Veterans Home

(Reno, NV.) – Residents of the Northern Nevada State Veterans Home (NNSVH) may now relax in style on any one of three patios at the Home, thanks to the volunteer efforts of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter #989 (VVA #989) and a $5,000 grant from The Home Depot Foundation.

The veterans service organization submitted for the grant and recently received it.

It paid for several outdoor items including three patio tables, storage boxes for outdoor supplies, hose reels, six 100-foot hoses, fixtures, three cantilever umbrellas, and 700 pounds of play sand to secure the umbrella ballasts.

Last month, around 20 volunteers gathered at the Home to assemble the furniture and umbrellas. The volunteers included members of VVA Chapter #989 and Associates of the VVA, The Katie Grace Foundation and members of Team Depot, Home Depot’s associate volunteer force, as well as employees from the Steamboat Parkway store in Reno and the Market Street store in Carson City. CLICK HERE to read more
