(Boulder City, Nevada) – The public is invited to attend a special day-long Veterans Day event marking the 100th anniversary to the end of WWI at the Nevada State Veterans Home. The home is located at 100 Veterans Memorial Drive in Boulder City, Nevada. The event is FREE and family-friendly.
The event will take place on Sunday, November 11, 2018. The day will begin at 9:00 AM with a book signing by New York Times best-selling author and combat historian, Patrick O’Donnell. He will be signing his works, including his latest book, “The Unknowns: The Untold Story of American’s Unknown Soldier and WWI’s Most Decorated Heroes Who Brought Him Home.”
The day will feature WWI displays and exhibits by the Nevada State Museum and State Archives. Private collectors will also have WWI memorabilia on display.
The traditional Veterans Day Ceremony begins at 1:30 PM. It will feature a flyover as well as music by the Henderson Symphony Orchestra and vocalists Laura Schaffer and Phil Esser.
There are a limited number of one-of-a-kind 100th Anniversary WWI pins that will be given to attendees of the formal ceremony.
