PROUD: Support for Substance Misuse and Recovery

By Asia Ervin, NDVS Health Program Specialist

You don’t have to face substance misuse alone. PROUD is helping Nevada’s military families access care, reduce stigma, and move toward recovery.

NDVS’s PROUD (Preventing and Reducing Opioid Use Disorder) program connects Nevada veterans and their families with no-cost, evidence-based treatment and behavioral health support for opioid and substance misuse.

Services are available to veterans of any discharge status, as well as parents, spouses, and children of those who have served.

What PROUD Offers:

  • Outpatient Treatment Services
  • Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD)
  • Behavioral Health and Recovery Support
  • Transportation Assistance
  • PROUD offers outpatient treatment through Behavioral Health Group in Las Vegas and Reno with additional behavioral health support through a partnership with U.S. Vets.

For questions and support, email PROUD@veterans.nv.gov

NDVS (Nevada Department of Veterans Services) is currently dealing with a large number of requests.

VSO intake appointments are taking about 30–90 days to schedule. The wait time depends on which location you choose and appointment availability. If you have already submitted a request, you may need to wait longer than usual for someone to contact you. It does not necessarily mean your request has a problem, it’s primarily a notice about the current backlog.
