Rose Garden Dedication Ceremony Held at Northern Nevada State Veterans Home

Thank you to the Circle of Life Community Hospice! Because of their generosity, residents of the Northern Nevada State Veterans Home have a beautiful Rose Garden to enjoy. The garden will provide more than beautiful, fragrant blooms for decades to come. The garden will also serve as a quiet, peaceful place of respite for meditation or for residents to simply enjoy.

The Rose Garden was dedicated in a special ceremony held on Thursday, October 28, 2021. Members of the media and invited guests gathered outside the home in the Main Courtyard for the short ceremony. Circle of Life Community Hospice Administrator, Michelle Cagle and Chaplain Jess Blackburn were among those who provided remarks.

Amy Garland, NDVS Deputy Director of Healthcare Services thanked local Rosarian, Rebecca Shaw and the volunteers with the UNR/Washoe County Extension’s Master Gardner Program for maintaining the Rose Garden. Garland also recognized several important people who made the vision of the Rose Garden a reality including Cagle, Blackburn, along with Community Liaison Cori Stauffer.
