Save the Date for Veterans Day 2022!

This year, Veterans Day falls on a Friday. You may want to mark your calendar for the Veterans Day events coming up on November 11, 2022.

In Las Vegas, NDVS will be hosting a Veterans Day Ceremony at the Nevada State Veterans Memorial, located outside the Grant Sawyer Building beginning at 1:30 p.m. This ceremony will follow the annual Las Vegas Veterans Day Parade in downtown making it more convenient for residents to attend both the parade and ceremony. The parade starts at 10:00 a.m. with the route beginning at 4th Street & Gass Street and ending at 4th & Stewart Avenue. For more information on the parade click HERE

In Boulder City, the Southern Nevada State Veterans Home will also celebrate the day with an outside event. There will be a Veterans Day ceremony starting at 9:00 a.m. followed by a parade around the facility beginning at 10:00 a.m. If you would like to assist in decorating the vehicles in the parade or walking the route, contact Amanda Kehrer at kehrera@veterans.nv.gov.

Activities are also planned at the Northern Nevada State Veterans Home in Sparks during the entire week prior to Veterans Day. However, due to the risks still posed by the pandemic, inside activities will be limited to invited guests only. The NNSVH is asking for donations to provide “thank you for your service” gifts, such as coffee mugs, shirts, pins to the veterans living at the home. Contact pio.ndvs@veteran.nv.gov for more information or to make a donation.

We will be sharing more information on the City of Reno’s Veterans Day Parade as details emerge, so watch our website or follow us on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn!

Additionally, cities, communities, groups and organizations across Nevada also host a wide variety of Veterans Day events. If you know of an event or are hosting an event and you want us to help publicize it, let us know!  Email pio.ndvs@veterans.nv.gov to provide your information.
