Southern Nevada State Veterans Home Maintains Highest Five-Star Rating

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has once again provided the Southern Nevada State Veterans Home (SNSVH) with its highest quality rating possible, a Five-Star overall rating. According to CMS, less than 10 percent of skilled nursing care facilities receive a quality rating of all five stars.

“Maintaining our Five-Star rating underscores the passion and commitment of every single member of our amazing team,” said Eli Quiones, SNSVH Administrator. “Our residents depend on us to be our best, every single day. So, our commitment to excellence and quality care is ingrained in everything we do.”

CMS created the Five-Star Quality Rating System to help consumers, their families, and caregivers compare nursing homes more easily and to help identify areas about which consumers may want to ask questions. The CMS Nursing Home Care Compare website features a quality rating system that gives each nursing home a rating of between one and five stars.  Nursing homes with five stars are considered to have much above average quality and nursing homes with one star are considered to have quality much below average.
