Suicide Prevention: VA REACH

One of NDVS’ top priorities is veteran and family member suicide prevention. An important protective factor is keeping service members, veterans, and their families connected to others and to needed resources. We encourage you to reach out to the veterans in your life and connect with them on a regular basis, even just to check in and say, “Hi!” This simple act can serve as an important connection for someone who is struggling to reach out on their own.

Click here for tools to help those who are in crisis, and for the family and friends surrounding that individual.

The VA has also developed a great website, Don’t wait. Reach Out., to help veterans and their family members and friends find resources specifically designed to help them through the challenges they experience.  Remember, life has its challenges, but veterans don’t have to solve them alone.

If you or someone you know is in crisis, please call the Veterans Crisis Line dial 988 and Press 1, or chat online.
