Women Veterans of Nevada - New Northern Nevada Chapter

Women Veterans of Nevada (WVON) is growing! The organization recently launched its new Northern Nevada chapter, holding its first meeting at the NDVS headquarters in Reno in September.

WVON brings together women from all branches and eras of military service including active duty, Guard and Reserve, to celebrate the history and heritage of military women while continuing a commitment to educate, assist, and support fellow veterans as well as the community.

Membership is open to women who have served in the uniformed services of the United States. Friends of WVON membership is also available to anyone who wants to honor and support women veterans.

NDVS (Nevada Department of Veterans Services) is currently dealing with a large number of requests.

VSO intake appointments are taking about 30–90 days to schedule. The wait time depends on which location you choose and appointment availability. If you have already submitted a request, you may need to wait longer than usual for someone to contact you. It does not necessarily mean your request has a problem, it’s primarily a notice about the current backlog.
