Special VOM/VSM and Youth Award Ceremony at State Capitol

This year’s Opening Ceremony at Veterans and Military Day at the Legislature will honor several recipients of the Veteran of the Month, Veteran Supporter of the Month and Youth Serving Veterans Award.  

Our Congratulations go out to the following: 

Veteran of the Month 

David Arroues, Wellington – U.S. Navy  

George Malone, Reno – U.S. Marine Corps   

Susan Malone, Reno – U.S. Marine Corps  

Veterans Supporter of the Month 

Bees 4 Vets, Reno – Program supports mental health of veterans by teaching beekeeping skills

Jennifer Parlane, Reno – Volunteer at the Northern Nevada State Veterans Home  

Nancy Grey, Reno – Volunteer at the Veterans Guest House 

Tom Zogorski, Gardnerville – Volunteer and board member of Welcome All Veterans Everywhere (WAVE) 

Youth Serving Veterans Award 

A’Laya Washington, Reno – Volunteers for several veterans’ service organizations and at her church. Also participates in a local youth football program.   

The Opening Ceremony will take place on March 15th at 9:00 a.m. behind the Nevada State Library, Archives and Public Records building in Carson City. Save your seat by registering HERE.
