Leonard Becker was presented the Veteran of the Month award for his volunteerism at the Nellis Air Force Base pharmacy. Mr. Becker has also been a volunteer with the Red Cross for over 15 years and is considered a true role model by his peers. “Mr. Becker is vital to the mission of the Nellis AFB Satellite Pharmacy," stated Kate Leonard, Volunteer Liaison, Nellis AFB, in Mr. Becker’s nomination letter to the Veterans Service Commission. “His Smiling face emulates a first impression of a warm and caring staff, which is constantly expressed to the staff by anyone he comes in contact with."
“On behalf of Governor Sandoval and the veteran community, the NOVS appreciates Mr. Becker’s contributions of time and his positive outlook which has such a great impact on the community and individuals around him," said Kat Miller, Deputy Executive Director of NOVS.
Mr. Becker is the eighth recipient this year and the NOVS continues to ask the community to nominate other veterans that serve as examples of not only of veterans’ continued service but the need for volunteerism to assist veterans and give back to them for their service to our country.
