Frank Greenwood was recognized as Nevada’s Veteran of the Month by Governor Brian Sandoval in a presentation Thursday November 6 in Carson City.
Mr. Greenwood, a resident of Sparks, NV was nominated for his ongoing volunteerism to benefit veterans. He has served in many positions with the Disabled Veterans of America (DAV) and works with the organization’s Reno Chapter #1 to organize and help feed the homeless and works with the Vet Center.
“His efforts to assist veterans and his community are seen year round,” says NDVS Deputy Director Willette Gerald. “Mr. Greenwood’s leadership through volunteerism has helped not only the organizations he works with, but his individual one-on-one assistance to veterans shows his dedication to serving others in need.”
In addition to working with the DAV, Mr. Greenwood organizes yearly BBQ’s which have helped raise over $30,000 in each year to assist in sponsoring winter sports clinics and UNR scholarships assistance for disabled veterans.
