92 People in Attendance at Reno NVA Conference

The Nevada Veterans Advocate Conference was held at Harrah’s Hotel and Casino on April 6^th and 7^th.  Ninety-two people attended the two day conference which covered 13 of the 20 required courses to complete the NVA program.  Lisa Howard, Director of the VA Hospital was the keynote speaker.  There were speakers for the individual courses from many Nevada State agencies, Nevada Department of Veterans Services, Military OneSource, Truckee Meadows Community College and both the VA Hospital and Veterans Business Administration.  Also in attendance were two representatives from Oklahoma’s Department of Veterans Affairs who were gaining information on Nevada’s Veterans Advocate program.

Twelve vendors also attended to provide participants with resources and information.
