Message from Director Devine

I want to thank everyone for their amazing support in our NDVS-hosted Veterans Day Ceremony at the Southern Nevada State Veterans Home in Boulder City. I want to thank our Governor and our Congressional delegation for their support as well. It was truly heartwarming to see so many of my fellow brothers and sisters-in-arms share in our day-long celebration of our military and those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. If you were not able to attend, please enjoy the photos from the Veterans Day events in this newsletter!

We are now planning for our next event, Wreaths Across America coming up on Saturday, December 14, 2024. This annual tradition honors veterans, active-duty military, and their families. Our volunteers show up at 9:00 a.m. at our Veterans Memorial Cemeteries in Fernley and Boulder City to place wreaths on the gravesites of our heroes. If you would like to donate a wreath, go HERE, but make sure you note which cemetery you want your donation to go to by indicating either the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley or the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City.

With Thanksgiving just a few weeks away, I’m reminded of the many things we all have to be grateful for this year. I know I speak for the department when I say I’m grateful for your support as together, we deliver connection to benefits, programs and services to our veterans, military members and their families.  Thank you for all you do!

Warmest regards,
Colonel Mary Devine
