The State of Nevada was selected to host a Suicide Mortality Review Academy for the purpose of developing recommendations for action surrounding suicide prevention. The event was held a few weeks ago at the Atlantis Hotel & Casino in Reno.
A Suicide Mortality Review Academy is a process aimed at establishing and increasing the capacity of states, territories, and Tribes to collect high-quality, uniform suicide death data, expand suicide death reviews, and ultimately translate data into suicide prevention actions at community, state, territorial, Tribal, and national levels.
Participating states and territories included California, Georgia, Kentucky, Maine, Wisconsin as well as the U.S. Virgin Islands.
