Meet the Newest Member of the NDVS Team, Tribal Liaison JJ Phoenix

NDVS welcomes Tribal Liaison James “JJ” Phoenix to the team! JJ will function as an advisor to NDVS Director, Deputy Directors, and staff for all tribal veteran advocacy for Nevada tribal veterans and their families. 

JJ was recently appointed to fill a vacancy on the Washoe County School Board. He is a retired Reno Police Officer, Nevada Army National Guard Lieutenant Colonel and former Chairman of the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe.  

JJ will also assist in outreach efforts to Nevada’s rural areas as well as support NDVS health and wellness, suicide prevention, homelessness, education, employment and other programs.
