May has been a month of significant change for NDVS.
Our Deputy Director of Health and Wellness Wendy Simons announced her retirement, and Amy Garland was appointed by Director Miller as the new Deputy Director of Support Services. We are saddened to see Wendy leave the position; however, we are happy to know she will be enjoying her retirement and family.
NDVS looks forward to seeing Amy move into the role after previously serving as the department’s Executive Officer.
“Amy Garland is a brilliant and innovative public servant with 18 years of distinguished service with the State of Nevada,” said Director Miller. I am confident she will provide Nevada’s veterans and their families with outstanding service.”
Also, the month of May, our Southern Nevada State Veterans Home experienced a transition in Administrators as Linda Gelinger retired and Eli Quinones assumed the reins. Linda leaves behind a legacy of excellence as she led the Home in achieving many awards and recognitions in the Skilled Nursing Industry. The new Administrator, Eli Quinones is excited and also bring his own record and experience to the home. “I am excited about the opportunity to build on Administrator Gelinger’ s success and to serve our veterans and their spouses who have sacrificed much for the freedoms all American’s enjoy.” Eli said.
NDVS wishes Simons and Gelinger and their families the very best.
