- Nevada Transition Assistance Program (NVTAP)
The Veterans Resource Center at WNC was opened January of 2013. It started as a place on campus for student veterans and has grown into the model veteran resource program in Northern Nevada.
The Center is manned by an all veteran staff that knows what it means to serve. The Center maintains focus on its motto of “Vets helping Vets” by operating a diverse selection of programs and initiatives designed to serve its diverse population. The Center’s primary focus is to assist the veteran or their family in the transition to the world of higher education.
The Pre-Admission adviser will walk the veteran through the often difficult process of creating an educational plan in order to maximize the VA education benefits. The Veteran Resource Center Coordinator is also the academic adviser for the student veterans on campus; his primary mission is to ensure that our veterans are given all the tools they need to succeed.
