Longtime Nevada Management Professional Appointed NDVS Deputy Director of Healthcare Services

In case you missed it, NDVS Director Fred Wagar appointed Vivian Ruiz as the department’s next Deputy Director of Healthcare Services, effective September 19, 2022.   

Ms. Ruiz has more than 15 years experience as a management professional, most recently serving as Executive Director for Disability Resources, Inc., located in Sparks, Nevada.  

In her new role as NDVS Deputy Director of Healthcare Services, Ms. Ruiz will be responsible for overseeing two State Veterans Homes as well as the department’s healthcare, wellness, and suicide prevention programs and initiatives.  

“We are thrilled Vivian is joining our already strong healthcare team,” said Fred Wagar, NDVS Director. “She brings an extremely unique set of skills to this position that will serve Nevada’s veterans and their families very well. In addition to her decades of management experience, she has also spent her entire career in service to community and others. This addition will ensure we continue to make good on our promise to provide no less than our very best to those we serve.”
