Veterans Healthcare Pocket Card Roll-Out in Fallon

The Healthcare Program Manager for NDVS held her second round of hospital presentations for the Veterans Healthcare Pocket Card, an educational initiative for Nevada’s civilian healthcare providers. The first presentation was held in July at Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital in Elko. More than 250 pocket cards were distributed to department heads, hospital faculty, and other healthcare providers to raise awareness and educate them about the unique healthcare needs of veterans. The Healthcare Services Team is prioritizing rural hospitals in Nevada to ensure veterans residing in areas without a VA Medical Center receive care that understands the potential health impacts of military service. NDVS looks forward to taking this initiative statewide as the need continues to grow.

If you are a healthcare provider and are interested in implementing the Veterans Healthcare Pocket Card in your organization, please reach out to Rachel Jelenic jelenicr@veterans.nv.gov to learn more.
