Meet the New Southern Nevada Outreach Director

By Evan Rush, NDVS Southern Nevada Outreach Director
The outreach program’s mission is to develop innovative ways to find and inform Nevada’s veterans about benefits and services available from federal, state, and local organizations, as well as solicit feedback from veterans regarding their requests and needs for additional services.

You will also see the outreach team and volunteers at booths and displays at various community events across Nevada providing education and information about Nevada benefits and NDVS programs that enrich the lives of veterans and their families.

Evan Rush, marking his second month as the Southern Nevada Outreach Director, is already adopting a proactive approach by increasing and expanding outreach in southern Nevada.

You can expect to see him develop strategic alliances and other partnerships, engaging in activities to maximize reach and impact to enrich the lives of veterans and their families. He will continue to promote and expand the Nevada Veterans Advocacy (NVA) Program.  As you may know, NVAs are great partners, providing outreach in communities NDVS did not have the manpower to reach previously.

These volunteers are essential in helping us talk to veterans and veteran supporters about benefits for which they may be entitled.  Increased recruitment of and training for these individuals is one of our highest priorities.

You can also expect to see continued promotion of the Patriot Employer Program (PEP) at career fairs and other business-centric events. Businesses can learn all the benefits of hiring veterans including financial benefits as well as leadership and technical skills.

Additionally, you will see Rush at Veteran Service Organizations (VSOs) throughout southern Nevada. His goal is to connect with every post and chapter.
