Congratulations, praise, and thanks are going out to the volunteers of a key NDVS project that will benefit veterans in Nevada for years to come. Because of the Veterans Information System (VIS) scanning project, Nevada veterans may eventually no longer have to carry and present a paper DD214 to prove their U.S. military service or veteran status to obtain earned benefits provided by the Silver State.
Over the past four years, these volunteers have been scanning paper DD214’s of Nevada veterans turning them into an electronic record. Prior to scanning, the volunteers had to undergo a background check and receive special training. To date, these volunteers have completed the scanning of more than 94,000 documents!
Congratulations to Cherlita (Cherly) DaGang, Ada Hill, Brenda Horton, Stephen Louks, Tom Spencer, Jan Solberg, Maggie Smith, and Susan Hamarlund! Great job and thank you for your work on behalf of Nevada veterans!
