- Nevada Transition Assistance Program (NVTAP)
If you’re considering a career in healthcare, the Crombie Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Training Academy could be your path forward. The academy is located at the Southern Nevada State Veterans Nursing Home (SNSVH) in Boulder City, Nevada. The program is free for participants and provides potential CNA job opportunities at the SNSVH.
The program includes 4-weeks (120 hours) of training, that consists of 40 hours of classroom instruction, 40 hours of laboratory practice and 40 hours of supervised clinical instruction, delivered on-site at the SNSVH. Each 4-week session (30 hours per week) will have a maximum of 15 students. The training will prepare participants for the CNA State Board of Nursing Examination. Participants who pass the Certification Exam will be provided a front-line opportunity to apply for CNA positions within SNSVH.
Do you have what it takes to be a Crombie Academy graduate? Find out by going HERE to learn about eligibility and how to apply. (Preference will be given to Gold Star Families, veterans, their spouses, families of SNSVH staff members, and Boulder City residents.)
The Academy is named in honor of 19-year-old PFC David “Nick" Crombie, from Winnemucca, Nevada. Read more about PFC Nick Crombie HERE.
The Crombie Academy is a workforce development program that offers an introduction to basic nursing skills, nursing assistant duties and responsibilities, as well as an understanding of veteran culture in an acute and long-term care setting at SNSVH.
