Debt Management Center (DMC) Covid-19 Update

Greetings from the VA Debt Management Center (DMC),

VA recently issued a news release extending debt relief to Veterans through the end of the year.  The full release can be found here.

Collection actions on Veteran debts owed to VA under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Treasury Department remain suspended through the end of 2020.

DMC is also continuing to suspend collection action or extend repayment terms on preexisting VA debts, as the Veteran prefers.

Please continue to encourage Veterans and family members affected by COVID-19 (Coronavirus) who have a VBA benefit debt and need temporary financial relief to contact the DMC at 1-800-827-0648 to request assistance.
