National Family Caregiver Month is here! The Nevada Caregivers Coalition, a robust group of caregivers and caregiving professionals throughout Nevada, is celebrating the month by reconvening their annual caregiver recognition event in person on November 10th.
The coalition is dedicated to honoring the commitment and dedication of caregivers year-round but hosts the event in November alongside National Family Caregiver Month. The event draws attention to the array of caregivers and raises awareness in a public forum to the integral role caregivers play for many Nevadans across the lifespan.
Honoring the service of various caregivers from family care partners to professional paid caregivers increases connection and quality of life for everyone involved. This year, NDVS was able to increase the number of caregivers recognized from both the Northern and Southern State Veterans Homes. The care provided by not only the awardees but all staff members at both Homes is greatly appreciated by residents, families, and the community.
Awardees from the Northern Nevada State Veterans Home are Troy Harsh, Amy Morley, Nubia Velasquez, Naomi Cruz, and Kaitie Drenner, Mona Ledbetter, Tyler Neff, and Alex Martinez.
Awardees from the Southern Nevada State Veterans Home are DeMadeline Rice, Robert Tan Torres, Sheila Paz, Trenton Puckett, Rico Beltran, Valerie Nunez, Ginalyn Giannini, Sonia Quintana, Toni Butler, and Anita Gobozy.
Thank you to all veteran caregivers in Nevada for all you do!
