- Nevada Transition Assistance Program (NVTAP)
The LGBTQ+ program continues to take an in-depth approach to enhancing our targeted outreach efforts. It is imperative for our program to ensure accessibility for veterans who identify as gender and sexually diverse, while also addressing key health concerns.
A First! VA’s New Diversity PACT Team for Southern Nevada
The VA Hospital in North Las Vegas has recently implemented a pioneering Diversity PACT focused on enhancing care for LGBTQ+ veterans, marking a first within the VA healthcare system. This initiative aims to streamline healthcare services for this population by providing a dedicated team of healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care. Christopher Miannay, our Southern Nevada Outreach Director, is partnering with this team to ensure the healthcare needs and benefits of LGBTQ+ veterans are met. The Diversity PACT has successfully enrolled its initial clients into the program.
Outreach With Henderson Equality Center
We are continuously partnering with Henderson Equality Center, offering LGBTQ+ veterans a safe space to connect with our organization and share their experiences openly, free from judgement and social stigma. Appointments are now available on Wednesdays from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Henderson Equality Center, located at 1490 W. Sunset Rd Suite 120, Henderson, NV 89014.
