Registered Nurses provide general or specialized professional nursing care in accordance with the authorized scope of practice specified in the Nurse Practice Act. Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.
Southern Nevada State Veterans Home (SNSVH) is recruiting for a Registered Nurse V, Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) position.
The position is responsible for overseeing the SNSVH – QAPI Program. In addition, the position will provide management relief which will include direct supervision of the Registered Nurse IVs, Licensed Practical Nurses IIs, and the Certified Nursing Assistants. Duties include but not limited to tracking and monitoring all data related to the QAPI program, preparing reports, maintaining records in accordance with the State of Nevada records retention schedule; assuming chair responsibility for quarterly QAPI committee meetings; oversight of MDS/Care Plan process as assigned; oversight of educational programs including the in-house Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification program and other duties as assigned.
