We congratulate James Ebert for being named Veteran of the Month (VOM) and David Wolosin for being recognized as Veteran Supporter of the Month (VSM) for May 2021.
Ebert is a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran who is an incredibly active member of the veterans’ community in Southern Nevada. He works with the City of Henderson, the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Nellis Air Force Base, and the Nevada National Guard’s Family Support Program to ensure veterans, their families, and currently serving service members receive the support they need. In working with the Las Vegas Service Office of the Military Order of the Purple Heart; he is a tireless advocate who helps veterans connect with their benefits, find temporary housing or food, and offer a willing hand in dealing with the local police department. As a passionate supporter of the community, Ebert also puts in the time and the help as needed, and at times his own resources, to help a veteran in need. He also helps coordinate the logistics of the Service Office’s Food Giveaway Program and is the City of Henderson’s coordinator for Memorial Day and Veterans Day activities.
Wolosin a local optician in Henderson has been a committed supporter of Nevada’s veterans for a number of years. Over the past years, he has provided the residents of the Southern Nevada Veterans Home with free services like eye glass repair, fittings, adjustments, and minor eye exams. As a supporter of the Military of the Order of the Purple Heart, he helps sponsor the Service Office and provides his free services at the Henderson National Guard Armory for the family members of current guardsmen.
