Message from Director

Dear Fellow Veterans, Advocates and Supporters,

I’m humbled and thrilled to see such incredible turnout and participation during this month’s Veterans Community Roundtable events in North Las Vegas, Mesquite and Pahrump! This was a follow-up to roundtables hosted by NDVS in the same communities last May. In this series, our Deputy Director of Benefits Ro Ferrer took the lead to provide updates on new NDVS initiatives and make sure participants could connect with a VSO or sign up for the VA’s ID.me. NDVS is planning to host another series of roundtables in October with a focus on health care! We will be locking down firm dates and venues in the weeks ahead.

I’m also delighted about the incredible participation at the National MOPH Convention held earlier this month at the Nugget Casino Resort in Sparks. In addition to the networking, information and resources shared at this annual gathering, this conference also provides opportunities for camaraderie and mutual support. I’m looking forward to next month’s DAV Conference in Las Vegas!

I also hope you mark your calendar for the upcoming, September 20, 2025, Color-Run for Suicide Awareness and Resource Fair. This year, it will be held at Reno High School with the run occurring from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. The Resource Fair will feature live music, food and fun along with lots of information about local services and resources.
