This month we are excited to share some new developments that may be of interest to you and your family!
This month we are opening our doors at the Northern Nevada State Veterans Home to the community for a special Open House. Governor Sisolak and other dignitaries will be featured in the opening ceremony. If you can join us on Thursday, October 3rd, the opening ceremony begins at 10:00 a.m. The tours start at 11:00 a.m. and run throughout the day until 4:00 p.m. Read more here: https://veterans.nv.gov/northern-nevada-state-veterans-home-hosts-special-open-house/
You are also encouraged to join us for the upcoming Nevada Veterans Advocate Workshop. It will be held November 2– 3, in Henderson at the Fiesta Henderson in the Cancun Ballroom. Based on the input from previous attendees, this workshop will offer all 20 modules during the two-day event. We heard you! You want to be able to receive your NVA certificate when you finish the workshop! Finally, just a reminder that our NDVS report to the veteran community on the 80th Legislative Session is out and posted on our website. It contains information on newly enacted legislation that was identified as being important by the veteran community. The report is available on our website at www.veterans.nv.gov . Click the Nevada Legislative Information button on the right. Or simply click this link to read it: https://veterans.nv.gov/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/2019-Report-to-the-Veteran-Community-on-the-80th-Legislative-Session-FINAL.pdf
I hope to see you soon at one of our upcoming events. As always, thank you so very much for your continuing support of Nevada’s veterans and their families.
Respectfully,
Kat Miller
