This year, Memorial Day falls on Monday, May 29, 2023. NDVS is preparing for the event at both its Southern and Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemeteries.
The Saturday prior to Memorial Day, May 27th, is set aside for the annual Flag-In event which provides family-friendly volunteer opportunities at our State Veterans Cemeteries in Boulder City and Fernley, Nevada. During the Flag-In event, individuals or groups place an American flag on gravesites at both cemeteries in preparation for the big Memorial Day ceremony.
On May 29th, Memorial Day ceremonies are held at both Nevada Veterans Memorial Day Cemeteries in Boulder City and Fernley. Please put this on your calendars and watch our social media and our May 1st newsletter for specific information on these ceremonies that are open to the public.
Watch this space for more details ahead and SEND US YOUR MEMORIAL DAY ACTIVITIES. If your community or organization is planning a ceremony or event on Memorial Day, let us know! Simply email Fanny Rizo at rizof@veterans.nv.gov.
We will share upcoming activities in our next e-newsletter!
