Nevada Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs

The Nevada Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs was established in 2011 by the Nevada legislature through NRS 231.160. The formation of the new department creates synergistic programs that can benefit not only the direct stakeholders within the cultural and tourism industries, but also generate jobs and drive economic impact for the entire state. Under DTCA is the Division of Museums & History, the Nevada Arts Council, the Nevada Indian Commission and Nevada Magazine.

The Nevada Commission on Tourism is the state’s primary marketing agency, established in 1983 through NRS code 231.260, providing domestic and international sales and marketing efforts that lead to significant revenue for and brand awareness of the State of Nevada.
