Our mission is to construct a Fisher House on the campus of the new Veterans Administration Medical Center in Southern Nevada (6900 No Pecos Rd at Woodbury Beltway CR215). It is estimated this Fisher House will be a 16-suite/9,000 sq, ft. facility which will provide 5,840 nights of lodging a year. With an anticipated occupancy rate of 90% and an average stay of 7 nights (averages for Fisher Houses), we believe the house will serve approximately 750 families a year. Using the local per diem rate to estimate comparable commercial lodging costs, we think this Fisher House will save Veterans and their families close to half a million dollars a year in housing costs alone (more than that with food and other savings).
The projected cost is $5-million and our goal is to raise $2.5-million. Once we have reached our goal, the Fisher Foundation will match our funds and construction will commence. We are shooting to begin construiction in mid-2015.
We are a non-profit with 501(c)(3) status.
