Veterans Guest House (VGH) is a Reno-based nonprofit that provides FREE overnight lodging, meals, transportation, post-operative personal care, and help with basic needs to veterans and their families traveling to Reno/Sparks for medical care.
VGH spans 16,000 sq ft with 17 bedrooms and 33 beds. Each room has two beds and a shared bathroom. Free continental breakfast is available daily, and guests are welcome to help themselves to a fully stocked kitchen provided by donations from the community. There are two living rooms, a small library, and complimentary WiFi/cable television. VGH is located across the street from the Reno VA Medical Center and central to a variety of local hospitals, medical offices, and dental clinics in Reno. Children and dogs are welcome.
Most recently, VGH opened the Cynthia Lake House—a free, private home for veteran families to access hospice care at the end of life. This one-of-a-kind home provides guest with 24 hour care and companionship in their final days. Guests must be enrolled with a licensed hospice agency, show proof of military service, and be within the last 90 days of life.
Our normal business hours are 9 am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. For more information on both houses, call 775-324-6958 or email info@veteransguesthouse.org.
