POSTPONED! Reno Veterans Legislative Symposia

We are rescheduling the 2020 Nevada Veterans Legislative Symposia and will let you know the new date once we determine it!

The Las Vegas Symposium on March 28th is not impacted!

This event provides a platform to identify and prioritize key areas or concerns in the veteran community. These identified issues are then brought before Nevada lawmakers for consideration to be addressed through legislation in the upcoming 2021 session of the Nevada Legislature. Federal issues are brought before Nevada’s Congressional delegation for review and legislative consideration as well.

The Veterans Legislative Symposia are held during the years when the Nevada Legislature is not in session in preparation for the next session. The Nevada Department of Veterans Services partners with the United Veterans Legislative Council (UVLC) to host the symposia. One session is held in northern Nevada, another is held in southern Nevada. As you may know, the UVLC is a nonprofit organization that serves as the lobbying arm for Nevada’s veterans, military members and their families. The symposia paves the way for the UVLC to speak with one unified voice, taking the identified concerns and issues from the veteran’s community to lawmakers.

There will be another symposium in Las Vegas on March 28, at the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System, located at 6900 North Pecos Road inside the Auditorium. Coffee and mingling begin at 8:00 AM. The event runs from 8:30 AM through 11:30 AM.  To save
